Above is the link to the Szetelat piece that I tried to recreate. I was just gong for one of the individual spinning pieces. I believe he used a function that included a for statement along with the translate and rotate tools and then used a loop to keep it continuous. This was the most difficult assignment I’ve tried so far. I couldn’t find out how he had some of the rectangles filled and others only had a stroke with an empty shape. I also couldn’t find how to get the rotation to switches directions. Looking back at it I think the post I picked was a little ambitious. I looked all over youtube to see how to get the shapes to return from an unfilled status to filled. I was only able to create a single direction of rotation. I think to switch directions of the rotation would require a whole other loop that would come after the first wave of movements. I had trouble entering more than 1 loop into P5, it kept on only displaying the second one. All difficulties aside I enjoyed trying to recreate one of his pieces from scratch, I just don’t think my arsenal is ready.
